FMP - Week 3 - Part 2

Time to add all of the details, AKA references, references, references!

I feel like this part of the project is easiest part to see where you've gone wrong in terms of getting the feel of a gertain game art style. So this part has to be done very meticulously to make sure that you're staying in line with what the other characters from your chosen game look like.

For Overwatch, I'm religiously looking between my model and reference images of Widowmaker, Mercy, Tracer and Sombra for my facial features, the lines on her body and the general shape language.

While I'm past the part of my project where I'm working with whole shapes and silhouettes, minor changes to facial features and the placement of the lines on her body to make it more like Overwatch is always useful.

I almost always start with the face once I've completed my blockout, then return to it later. So this is my face model at the moment:

I've been using reference from Widowmaker and Mercy primarily for my character's face.

The models from Renaud Galand on his ArtStation site have been the life and soul of this project and I've had it bookmarked pretty much since the project started.

Screenshots like these are really useful for me to understand just how smooth the high poly renders of these characters are, and to remind myself to not go overboard with fold detailing.
