The beginning of the sculpting process and the decision to use a little artistic liberty.
Today marks the first day of the sculpt for my underwater beast... ocean monster... sea cyclops... Seaclops! He shall now be called Seaclops. Puns aside, after looking closer at my concept image and then at the reference images I have taken from existing God of War enemies to get a feel for the aesthetic I was going for, I realised that the cyclops was a little slimmer than I wanted him to be. So, I decided to use a little artistic liberty to make him fatter and stockier than he is shown in the concept, but otherwise keep the concept the same.

Here you can just see that I keep switching from modelling the body in Zbrush and moving him into 3ds Max to then add his accessories like the shoulder pads, waist band and cloth.
